Fabricated Fittings

Marley supplies a comprehensive range of fabricated fittings for pressure applications from stock or made to your specifications.

Pipe fittings can be manufactured from pipe in a wide variety of sizes and pressure classes, but mostly from 75mm OD upwards and Class 6 or higher. The fittings can be plain ended (for buttwelding, electro-fusion fittings or compression fittings) or have stubs fitted for flanges or Tak Clamps.

Permissible working pressure is 60% of the class of pipe used to fabricate the fitting, e.g. 10 bar pipe produces a 6 bar fabricated fitting.

Compression Fittings

For use with high density polyethylene pipes, we offer a broad range of Marley compression fittings as well Philmac compression fittings.

Our Marley compression fittings are ideal for use in irrigation, drinking water systems and include many items suitable for a very wide range of plant engineering installation requirements. All fittings with a female threaded portion of 32mm or greater are re-enforced externally with a stainless steel ring.

Philmac is renowned for quality products and services and their compression fittings hold a Certificate of Acceptance from JASWIC. The compression fitting design uses the mechanical advantage of the nut thread to place the seal into a compressed position. This means no resistance when inserting the pipe into the fitting, thus eliminating damage or displacement to the seal during installation. Furthermore the fittings have no loose components which can be incorrectly assembled or lost.

All compression fittings sizes range from smaller diameters less than 160mm as well as an affordable solution for the smallest diameters less than 75mm.

Flanges & Tak

Flanges, Tak– and 'Victualic' fittings are used with stubs to establish detachable joints in PVC and HDPE pressure pipe systems. Stubs may be buttwelded to pipe or spigot ends on buttweld fittings.

This range encompasses a wide range of sizes and dimensions for flanged connections as well as Tak and ‘Victualic’ clamps to enable detachable joints to be made with pipes that have Tak or ‘Victualic’ stubs buttwelded to them.

Buttwelding

Buttwelding is a very economical and reliable jointing technique for making permanent welded joints by way of a thermofusion process, requiring only buttwelding equipment. Buttwelding is particularly suitable for prefabricating pipe sections and special fittings. Both fittings with short spigot ends and fittings with long spigot ends are suitable for buttwelding. Only pipes and fittings from the same wall thickness series can be buttwelded together.

The Marley butt-fusion system is made up of:
    - Straight polyethylene pipe
    - Long spigot fittings
    - Pupped fittings
    - Accessories

Electrofusion

Electrofusion is a simple and rapid jointing technique for making permanent welding joints. The efficient assembly on site of pipes, fittings or prefabricated pipework can be achieved using electrofusion couplers and electrofusion equipment. Only fittings with long spigot ends are suitable for electrofusion.

FRIALEN® Safety Fittings (by Friatec, an Aliaxis company) are equipped with integrated heating elements capable of melting within the confines of the fitting, the inner layer of the fitting and the outer layer of the pipe being electro fused. The molten materials combine to form a homogenous mixture that cools down to a permanent and impermeable bond.

This bond has been proven to be more resilient than the pipe itself in all mechanical testing. The technology is safe to use (low Voltage) and offers maximum joint integrity with full traceability.

Saddles

The Magnum range of polypropylene saddles may be used to easily create a female threaded tap-in on both PVC and HDPE pressure pipe.

Magnum Saddles are engineered for use above or below ground for the transfer of fluids; including water, chemicals or slurries; frequently encountered in the civil engineering and mining or irrigation industries.

Magnum holderbats may be used to anchor suspended pipe systems. These fittings are identical to the saddles, but instead of having a threaded off-take portion, this section has a 12mm hole through which a support bolt can be passed. The stainless steel reinforcement has also been removed.
