Petroplas

Petroplas is a high performance polyethylene pipe system designed specifically for the transfer of fuels in dispensing facilities and commercial installations. The system has been perfected to satisfy growing environmental concerns and in particular, to protect ground water against contamination often associated with corroded and leaking steel pipe systems.

Features and Benefits
•    A 30 year design life resistance to permeation
•    Dimensional stability resistance to corrosion
•    Smooth bore with minimal resistance to fuel and vapour flow
•    Ease of use and robustness
•    Quick permanent joints
•    Leak-tight fusion welded joints with transition to metal systems
•    Dedicated ancillary equipment
•    15 year warranty
•    ISO9001 accredited quality management system
•    UL971 Accredited

Accreditation
Petroplas satisfies the requirements of the UL971 Specification of 1995 (2005 revision) for Nonmetallic Underground Piping for Flammable Liquids and the IP Performance Specification for Underground Pipework Systems at Petrol Filling Stations.

Petroplas Products

Petroplas pipe may be classified as a semi-rigid polymeric system and has a protective layer integrated with the polymer matrix that resists permeation. The protective layer is formed by exposing the pipe surfaces to a fluorination process, where the surface is modified in an exothermic chemical reaction. The protective layer is integrated with the polymer matrix; delamination is therefore of no concern and the pipe may be easily recycled.

The resultant barrier layer offers protection on three surface areas:

1.    Protected primary carrier line.
2.    Dual containment pipelines are protected against interstitial deterioration in the event of a primary line leakage (outer surface of the primary carrier line and the inner surface of the secondary containment line are impermeable).
3.    Deterioration of the outer pipe surface as a result of site spillage or contamination is not possible.

The system has been rated as fit-for-purpose in high throughput industrial applications with no layer wear off.

Petroplas Co-axial pipe offers an integral primary/secondary containment solution for underground non-metallic Integral Primary/Secondary, Normal Vent and Vapour Recovery applications (Motor Vehicle Fuels, High Blend Fuels, Concentrated Fuels, Aviation & Marine Fuels).

Petroplas Co-axial pipe comprises of a pressure rated primary pipe contained within a secondary containment pipe sleeve. Both primary and secondary pipes are fluorinated to the standard Petroplas specification.
Petroplas Vent and Vapour Recovery Pipe is a single wall pressure rated, natural HDPE coloured pipe suitable for Normal Vent and Vapour Recovery applications (Motor Vehicle Fuels, High Blend Fuels, Concentrated Fuels, Aviation & Marine Fuels).

Petroplas pipe sections are joined using the FRIATEC® electro-fusion weld process ensuring safe efficient processing and maximum joint integrity with error reporting. The FRIATEC® system offers a complete range of FRIALEN® Safety Fittings with transition to metal systems, dedicated FRIAMAT® ancillary fusion-weld equipment and FRIATOOL® technical equipment for the efficient preparation of all joints to be electro-fused.
